We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Trauma Acute Care Surgery (ACS) Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join a dynamic trauma team in Bakersfield, CA. This position is ideal for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Candidates with experience in trauma and acute care surgery are strongly preferred.
As a Trauma ACS APP, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to trauma patients. Your key responsibilities will include performing initial assessments, diagnostics, and evaluations for trauma patients, assisting in the management of acute surgical cases, and coordinating care plans.
Additionally, you will participate in trauma resuscitations, patient stabilization, and follow-up care. Your role will involve assisting in surgical procedures under the supervision of a trauma surgeon, rounding on trauma and surgical patients in the hospital (including ICU and step-down units), and documenting patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR). Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and trauma program development will also be an integral part of your responsibilities.
Compensation: $136,500 for 175 shifts
Qualifications:
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of California.
Board Certification as an NP or PA.
Advanced certifications, including ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support), are highly preferred.
Experience in trauma, emergency medicine, critical care, or acute care surgery is preferred, but new grads will be considered
