POSITION TITLE

Public Relations Intern – Winter/Spring 2026

POSITION LOCATION

This hybrid position is open to applicants located in Richmond, Virginia

YOUR ROLE

This 12-week, paid internship beginning in January 2026 offers a hands-on, immersive opportunity to contribute to real-world public relations campaigns that spotlight the challenges and opportunities in long-term care. You’ll gain exposure to media relations, influencer engagement and internal communications.

This internship is best suited for someone who is curious, quick to learn, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and passionate about work that drives social impact.

What you will be doing

  • Contributing to media relations efforts, including identifying target reporters and crafting compelling pitches
  • Assisting with influencer engagement strategies
  • Drafting and editing content for external channels
  • Supporting the development of campaigns that promote awareness of long-term care challenges and solutions
  • Tracking media coverage and assisting with reporting on campaign performance ​

What you bring

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or related field with an expected graduation date of May 2026-May 2027
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with media or influencer trends (prior experience with earned or social media is a plus!)
  • Orga nized, adaptable and eager to contribute in a team environment ​
