Position Program Assistant, Oglala Lakota Artspace (OLA) — This full-time, non-exempt/hourly position supports onsite events, workshop registration and data collection, hosting Artists in Residence (AiR), and provides office support for Program Managers and the Director of the OLA. Organization Context The OLA is the first dedicated art space in the Pine Ridge Reservation. The facility includes artist studios, the Wichapi Olowa Recording Studio, workshop and classroom spaces, a performance space, and partner organization offices. This role helps provide a safe, welcoming space for community engagement in cultural, creative, and educational activities rooted in Collective Spirit®. Pay and Schedule Pay: $15 to $25 per hour, full-time non-exempt. Pay may vary based on skills and experience. Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with potential modification to weekends or evenings to meet program/event needs. Location Based at the Oglala Lakota Artspace building in Kyle, SD. Pre-screen Upon offer, employees must complete and pass a background check. Main Duties & Responsibilities Prepare classrooms for workshops/meetings, including setup and takedown of tables, chairs, and equipment. Clean and sanitize rooms and equipment; manage housekeeping and basic site cleaning. Coordinate meal planning logistics with local caterers for special meetings. Register participants for workshops/classes and assist with post-event evaluations. Enter workshop/class registration and attendance data into Salesforce. Assist with inventory management: record inventory, tag with FPF label, and store items. Maintain office supplies and coordinate maintenance of office equipment. Receive deliveries, sort and distribute mail, answer/transfer calls, and greet visitors. Maintain filing systems and retrieve information as requested; prepare written data summaries as needed. Respond to administrative inquiries and coordinate travel, meetings, and appointments for managers or supervisors. Prepare meeting agendas, schedules, and designated note-taking; manage expense recording and petty cash use. Perform other related duties as assigned and manage scheduling use of facilities; handle facility-usage inquiries and approvals. Support the FPF Communications team by republishing digital assets and content on the OLA Facebook page per guidelines (not responsible for original content creation). Submit communications requests on behalf of OLA program staff when necessary; consult with the Associate Director of Communications and the Social Media Coordinator for guidance. Adhere to all policies and procedures regarding safety and security of the facility and community members. Education High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in Business Administration preferred. Two to three years in an office or program support role is helpful. Other forms of lived experience, cultural knowledge, and informal/community-based education are valued. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication; outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, or related software. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; familiar with clerical procedures, recordkeeping, and filing. Ability to take initiative and solve problems; First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or willingness to be trained by the organization). Awareness of Native arts and culture; knowledge of tribal communities in North America; preferred understanding of Pine Ridge community. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for special programs and events. Prolonged sitting at a desk and computer use; ability to lift up to 30 pounds for event setup.
