General Summary: As an Inventory Management Associate, you will play a key role in maintaining vehicle inventory. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the security and organization of vehicle parking areas, vehicle preparation, and providing outstanding service to both internal and external customers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure daily maintenance and security of inventory and vehicle parking areas.
• Maintain and document the transfer of incoming and outgoing inventory through the shipping and receiving facility.
• Support auction activities with participation.
• Deliver and retrieve vehicles from off-site vendors.
• Assist with the training of new associates.
• Follow standardized work processes diligently.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Provide shuttle services for customers.
• Complete daily inventory scanning and reconciliation.
• Engage in the wholesale reconditioning process.
• Assist with selling wholesale inventory using auction systems and simulcast platforms.
• Once certified, participate in the gas reclamation process.
• Monitor transportation of incoming inventory from satellite locations.
• Consistently provide exceptional customer service.
• Assist in other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications:

• Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data for accurate record-keeping.
• Collaborate effectively with associates from different departments.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong skills in inventory management.
• Eager to learn wholesale and inventory operating procedures.
• Willingness to complete CarMax provided training.
• High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Wear CarMax clothing while on duty.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs; heavier items may require assistance.
• Flexible work hours; shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Work in both an office and outdoor environment, which may include exposure to noise and varying weather conditions.
• Primarily work outdoors; readiness for occasional noisy or inclement weather is essential.
