Now Hiring: Experienced 12-Volt Installer / Car Audio Tech

About Us

TNS Autosports is a growing performance and customization shop in North Kansas City , specializing in car audio, electronics, auto body, and vehicle prep for resale and custom builds . We work on everything from daily drivers to full-on custom rides and are expanding our 12-volt department .

We’re looking for a skilled, motivated 12-volt installer who takes pride in clean installs, understands signal flow, and knows how to deliver high-end results to everyday customers.

Position: 12-Volt Installer / Car Audio Technician

You must be confident in installing and building:

• ✅ Car audio systems – head units, amplifiers, door speakers, tweeters, EQs
• ✅ Custom subwoofer enclosures (box building, ported/sealed)
• ✅ Remote start & alarm systems
• ✅ Backup cameras, dash cams, light bars, and other 12v accessories
• ✅ Diagnosing signal, noise, and power issues
• ✅ Running clean and safe wiring (power, ground, signal, remote, speaker)

You must also:

• Have real experience working in a car audio shop (this is not an entry-level role)
• Own your own tools (power tools, multimeter, wiring tools, etc.)
• Be comfortable working on a variety of vehicles (cars, trucks, SUVs, imports, classics, etc.)
• Work with minimal supervision and deliver clean, functional, and safe installs

Pay Structure: Commission + Weekly Draw

• Commission-based pay : Earn based on what you install — the more you do, the more you make
• Weekly draw : Guaranteed weekly base draw, with commission payout added at the end of the week
• No cap on earnings — skilled installers consistently earn $1,200–$2,000/week
• Paid weekly

Schedule & Work Environment

• Full-time, Monday–Friday (occasional weekends for special builds)
• Clean, organized shop
• Flexible work pace — install correctly, not just quickly
• You’re not a number here — we value quality work and reward effort

Requirements

• At least 1–2 years in a professional car audio or 12-volt shop
• Must have own tools and be ready to work Day 1
• Reliable transportation to and from our shop in NKC
• Good work ethic, clean work habits, and pride in craftsmanship
• Able to troubleshoot and problem-solve on your own
• Honest, punctual, and ready to be part of a growing team

Bonus Skills (Not Required, But a Plus):

• Fabrication experience (fiberglass, vinyl wrap, custom dash mods)
• LED lighting, underglow, or starlight headliner installs
• Vehicle wiring diagnostics with OEM integration tools (iDatalink, Maestro, etc.)
• Marine or powersports audio installation
