Job Overview Utilize your CDL and customer service skills to assist with every step of the blood collection process. Collaborate with the team to transport and set up equipment at collection sites in local communities, create a welcoming environment for volunteer donors, and follow all safety procedures during lifesaving blood donation drives. Key Responsibilities Safely transport blood collection equipment and set up/tear down sites collaboratively. Connect personally with donors, listening to their stories and explaining the impact of their donation. Collaborate with teammates to create a friendly, welcoming environment for repeat volunteer donors. Maintain attention to detail throughout the day to ensure collected blood meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused. Schedule Variable schedule with rotating weekends and holidays. Staff may work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, and overnight travel may be required in some locations. Schedule is provided two to three weeks in advance. Pay Information Starting rate $21.20 per hour. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills. Current, valid driver's license with a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a clean driving record. Experience driving large vehicles is strongly preferred. DOT certification required, including passing the applicable DOT physical and related requirements, and maintaining a valid medical certification of at least one year. Physical ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights, use ramps and stairs, sit or stand for extended periods, and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes. Minimum height of 60 inches to safely operate Red Cross vehicles. Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.). Prior leadership experience. Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision plans.
